Geoff Mason began hill walking at five years old, when he was led up the Worcestershire Beacon by his father. Over the next three decades, his love of the mountains led to rock climbing, winter mountaineering, Alpinism, and Arctic expeditions. Whether it be a short afternoon stroll on Exmoor, days out in the Scottish Highlands, or a pioneering expedition to a previously unclimbed peak, his enthusiasm remains undiminished. In addition, Geoff is a keen mountain biker, and enjoys kayaking, Nordic skiing and photography.

Geoff is a fully qualified International Mountain Leader (IML), holds a Mountain Bike Leader award, the Single Pitch Award and appropriate First Aid qualifications. He has worked with the Armed Forces, uniformed and non-uniformed Youth Organisations, the Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme, Outdoor Education Centres and Schools. He is a member of the local Search & Rescue Team, and the regional Training Officer for Mountain Rescue England & Wales.

Most activities are run by Geoff personally, although he is assisted on occasions by other fully qualified, professional guides and instructors. mountains+moor hold comprehensive public liability insurance, covering all of their activities.
